Interested Party is written for readers who use AI at work, follow culture closely, and want to know who decides what about their lives. One email edition a month, stories on the site, and posts on Instagram and Threads.
One sponsor per monthly edition. Your ad takes the first slot, right after the lead story, with “Sponsored” above it. You buy the placement and the audience, never a topic.
Ask about datesNewsrooms, researchers, and organizations can republish or cite our stories for free, with credit and a link back. We name the partners who republish in the monthly edition.
Read the guidelinesTalks, workshops, and advice on building and covering AI that makes decisions about people, for newsrooms, organizations, and companies. See Ethan’s workYou buy placement and an audience, never a topic.
You don’t see stories before they run and can’t change them after.
Your ad has the word “Sponsored” above it.
If we add a line before your ad, it says who it might be useful for. It never says we’ve used your product unless we have.
Your ad never runs in or next to a story about your company or the kind of thing it sells.
If we report on you, the story says you’re a sponsor.
We don’t take political ads, or ads for payday or predatory loans, crypto or trading schemes, gambling, or “AI detectors,” or from companies that sell tenant screening, hiring screening, or surveillance.
If HEATDRAWN Media, which publishes Interested Party, has done work for your company, any story about you says so.
These are the same rules as on our Standards page, and they apply to every ad we run.
You can republish Interested Party stories for free, online or in print. Here’s what we ask.
Credit us
Add this line at the top or bottom of the story: “This story was first published by Interested Party.” Link it to the original story, not only to our home page.
Keep the byline and the aside
Ethan Ward’s name stays on the story. The aside, the line in parentheses, stays word for word. Keep the “How we used AI” note at the end too.
Edit for style and length only
You can change spelling and punctuation to your house style and trim for space. Ask us before changing anything else, including the headline, quotes, and “What you can do.”
Images
Our collages are ours to share. Run them with the story and credit them in capitals on their own line: COLLAGE: INTERESTED PARTY. News photos are licensed to us and usually don’t transfer. Check each photo’s credit and license it yourself, or run the story without it.
Corrections follow
If we correct a story, we’ll email you. Update your version and add our correction note.
